Steve S. is flying off to England for the FfordeFest tonight and leaving his car parked at our house. Originally, daisy_knotwise was going to drop him off at O'Hare to catch his plane, but there was a bit of miscommunication with a fortuitous result: samwinolj and Bonnie will be joining us for dinner and dropping Steve off to catch his plane afterwards. Since we haven't seen them to speak of for a while -- everyone's been run a bit ragged lately -- this should be fun.

So last night, daisy_knotwise made dinner for tarkrai and me, after which the four of us (counting Katie) adjourned to The Cheesecake Factory where I got the piece of Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake that I've been thinking of for several days. (I blame catalana. :) ) After that, we came home and headed down to the studio where Steve showed me some of the things that he wanted to do with his album, which he brought me the almost complete master tapes for. More conversation followed upstairs while waiting for Katie to fall asleep, but then exhaustion won for all of us.

We were up early this morning so I could go to work and Steve could go to his local bank. They met me for a very early lunch at Hot Dog Island (where Linda, one of the owners, got to meet Katie), after which Gretchen dropped Steve off to catch the noon train to Kalamazoo and went home, while I headed back to work.

Visiting at the speed of sound, I think. :)
