I headed down into the basement this morning and started remixing tracks for [info]catalana's and my albums. Since I'm able to handle stairs with the crutch and can keep the bad knee stretched out, it's not too bad.

Given the full set of notes from [info]catalana and the various truck tests, I was able to quickly adjust everything to what I'm sure will be everyone's satisfaction. Thank God for automation!

Now, I just need to test the mixes out. Of course, listening to them from the back seat of the van will be a little odd, but you've just got to learn to adapt!
27th-Jan-2006 07:51 pm - Headroom
You have to understand that I need a lot of headroom in my cars. It comes from having a long torso. But there are some times when no amount of headroom is going to help the situation.

I was driving home from work, in a bit of a hurry, so that [info]daisy_knotwise and I could get some dinner before continuing preparations to go to England. I turned into the traffic circle near home, when I realized that a car was coming from a funny angle. I swerved to avoid it and managed to do so, but as I did, I drove through this flash of light -- yes, I know that sounds strange, but I don't know how else to describe it. And I realized that there was suddenly no headroom left in the car.

Trembling, I pulled through the circle and into the left-turn lane for Wolf Rd. (Oh, now that's just ironic.) I reached up to find out why my head was being crushed against the roof of the car and realized that it was my ears. My furry ears. Now, I've been growing a bit of hair there as I get older, but this was ridiculous.

I flipped down the visor mirror and saw a six-foot tall white anthropomorphic rabbit looking back at me. "I would have sworn", I thought to myself, "that portal was supposed to be in the Bermuda Triangle, not in Des Plaines."

Ok, so I'm a rabbit here. I wonder what analog of Gretchen is going to be arriving from the bank...
