One of the library books that we checked out, because I was very fond of it when I was young, was Bartholomew and the Oobleck by Dr. Seuss. Katie is also very fond of it and we've read it more than once before she goes to bed.
In other news, the rain/snow line has now moved north of Des Plaines. There's a thin coating of snow busily melting on top of wet pavement. The outside temperature is hovering just above freezing, but will likely drop during the night.
By morning, instead of having the sticky form of oobleck, we are going to have the really annoyingly slick version of oobleck on our driveway. I don't know if any of it will qualify as snow by then -- we'll see in the morning.
At 7:15AM I came upstairs to find it snowing lightly. An hour later it was coming down VERY hard, and it's still snowing. It changed over to big fluffy flakes, and is really beautiful at the moment. Grand Rapids is supposed to get at least 6 inches, with even more to the south of us.
