Bits and Pieces

Julie got to try out her new bicycle at the park today and is very happy with it. Katie was also happy to go out riding. I got to stop by for a few minutes on the way home from lunch to watch the festivities.

Katie got her hair cut, the hairdresser uncovering some of the more interesting cutting that Katie had done by herself, all on one side. This will eventually grow out. *sigh*

I'm still trying to push the client fixes I've done out the door. There's a problem with transaction rollback that I still need to fix, but today's entertainment was discovering that some of the ADO database export requests were jamming up for long periods of time. I spent about an hour adding some benchmarking code at the top of the process and determined that the time was all being spent somewhere down in the database code and is not apparently related to my locking changes. I handed over the nice new function that I'd written to drop time stamps into the log to the developer who is most familiar with the DB export code and wished him luck.

samwinolj was still sick today, so we still have the old van.

Maybe tomorrow...
