But Wait! There's More!

On the continuing family health report, daisy_knotwise injured her shoulder while taking Katie and Julie to dinner at OVFF in 2011. Julie wanted to be picked up in the parking lot, then pulled her game of tucking in her legs so that she couldn't be put down. As Gretchen leaned over, the weight pulled her forward and, instead of falling on Julie and doing major damage to her, Gretchen rolled over the top of her and landed on her shoulder. Painfully. This added a certain level of extra color when she covered Evil Eyeball in the Pegasus Concert later that evening.

The problem was that she definitely did some damage to the shoulder. And it got better. And it got worse. And it got better. And then it got worse again.

After 18 months, I figured it was time to do something about it, so I called Dr. Bob and asked him to talk to Gretchen about this mess, suspecting that the next stop was with an orthopod. Instead, he's referred her to a physical therapist here in Des Plaines and Gretchen is now going in two mornings a week and doing her exercises to try to get things straightened out. Apparently, she was working so hard to protect the injured upper arm that she managed to tie her shoulder into a knot.

So far, so good. We'll see how things progress.
