We went out to Lisle for their Eyes to the Skies festival today. The weather was excellent, which was a bonus.
This year, they had an excellent selection of bouncy castles, but they were charging for them. I decided to pay
way too much for unlimited wristbands for the girls, which was
still cheaper than I suspect it would have been had I paid by the trip. They also had a rock wall and a bungie jump (sort of a modified baby bouncer for older kids) which would have cost still more ($5 for the rock wall; $10 for the bungie bouncer) which I declined to provide for Katie and Julie. :)
Concerts were good, including American English, an excellent Beatles cover band that we've seen fairly frequently around here. The fireworks display was halfway through their set and
daisy_knotwise and I decided that it would be best to wait until the concert was over and the fireworks crowd cleared to go home. Sadly, the people who stood in front of us on the sidewalk during the fireworks stayed there for the entire second half of the concert. Last year, the police and security were moving people off the sidewalk and the lawn between the sidewalk and the pond, but not this year. Ah, well.
We had two little girls sleeping on our laps by the time the concert ended, but there was no line for the shuttle bus to parking, so we made it home in good time.
And a good time was had by all. :)
