Dance by Starlight

Just got back from Dixseption, the UK filk con, about which more later. In the meantime, here are the lyrics to the new song that I wrote while I was there.

Dance by Starlight

I look at you, you look at me.
Never imagined how happy we’d be.
Standing together as lovers and friends,
Reach for your hand, starting over again.

Never thought that I could feel so happy and so free
As the way I find I feel with you standing close to me.
Never thought we’d find the strength or will to take the chance,
And I hear the music rising for the dance.

(Chorus)
So dance by starlight.
Dancing in a dream tonight.
Dancing as our hearts take flight,
Knowing everything’s all right.

Never knew that I could feel the way you make me feel.
Never knew that anything so wonderful was real.
Looking deep into your eyes, I find that I’m entranced
As we’re moving to the rhythm of the dance.

(Chorus)

I thought it was impossible – I guess that I was wrong,
Dancing in the dark with you and listening to our song.
So here’s a happy ending and a start to our romance
As we gently sway together in our dance.

(Chorus twice)

I look at you, you look at me.
Never imagined how happy we’d be.
Standing together as lovers and friends,
Reach for your hand, starting over again.
Reach for your hand, starting over again.
