Cycling Through the Past

I finally ditched enough of this damned respiratory infection that I got back on the exercycle this week. As a result, I am once again reading back issues of Time magazine, in this case from 2003.

In the issue I just finished, there was an article about Oracle launching a hostile takeover bid for PeopleSoft. There were a number of companies discussed in the article. Save for Microsoft, IBM, and SAP, I think Oracle has now acquired all of them.

I pulled the last issue off the current stack of magazines, then dug down to a deeply buried shelf in the closet to pull the last massive stack of Time up to the now empty and more accessible shelf. When I did so, two comics from 2003 surfaced: H.E.R.O. #1 and Harley Quinn #27.

Did you know that they used to print comics on newsprint? In the current millennium?
