Blowing Up a Lost Season

It's sort of fascinating watching the Cardinals front office restructuring the team as they find themselves unable to progress above .500 baseball. Just before the All-Star break, the manager, Matheny, was fired along with the hitting coaches.

Today was the day that the bullpen was massively restructured, as two pitchers (Holland and Lyons) were designated for assignment, Tuivailala was traded to the Mariners, and Cecil was moved to the DL.

I'm waiting to see what happens next.
