Without a Clue
3rd-Aug-2018 11:58 pm
The girls have discovered the game of Clue.

We have played a lot of Clue this week. And I have discovered that I am much better at playing Clue than the last time I played it. :)

When I was... rather a bit younger, a friend and I would play Clue a lot. We got it down to a science: we allowed queries that included cards that one held in one's own hand, which allowed us to narrow down the clues very quickly. It frequently devolved into which of us could get into a room first, and that was the winner. (It seemed, statistically, that Mr. Green was a frequent culprit, and Mrs. White was much more rare.)

Then there was the time that Mr Green did it in the Ballroom with the Conservatory. That had us baffled for a while, till we finally pulled the cards out and discovered the mis-draw...

Ah, nostalgia!

The Harry Potter Version of Clue has a wonderful twist. It has a wheel that turns under the board that changes which room entries are open and where passages lead to. Plus thematic game elements.
