Power

And the song that I wrote on Saturday night, which was a case of a character walking up and making himself known to me while I was noodling on the guitar:

Power

There is power in your mind.
Wasn’t looking, didn’t know I’d find
It is there, it is capped,
It is totally untapped
And if I’m very careful, I can make it mine.

There is power I can steal.
I can take it and you’ll never feel.
I can turn on the tap.
I can catch it in the trap
And it doesn’t really matter if you think it’s real.

There is power I can take
In the nighttime when you’re not awake.
And if you hear the scream,
Well, you know it’s just a dream
And there isn’t any reason that your bed should break.

There is power and control.
I can use it, I can make it whole.
And if you understood,
Well, you’d stop me if you could,
But since you don’t believe you’re gonna pay the toll.

There is power to destroy.
I can take it, use it as my toy.
You are stronger than me,
But as long as you don’t see,
There’s nothing you can do to stop the drain, my boy.

There is power in your mind.
Wasn’t looking, didn’t know I’d find
It is there, it is capped,
It is totally untapped
And if I’m very careful, I can make it mine.
