So Much For That

The new laptop battery arrived today. It also refused to charge, so apparently the charging circuits for the laptop are fried, which would require replacing the motherboard, which simply isn't going to be happening.

The charge on the battery -- with the laptop plugged in! -- dropped from a 75% level to a 20% level in less than an hour plugged into the laptop, so it is getting returned as not working so well.

And the laptop is going to spend the rest of its operational life on a tether.

Ah, well. It was a good try.
