Something New, Something Old

For the most part, it was not an unusual Sunday here. I did pull out the sawzall and the pruning blade and remove three dead limbs from the trees in the back yard, which has been on my list of things to do for some time.

I played some guitar, which was good.

I watched the MLB Network show as it kept cutting back to the Cardinals / Brewers game, which the Cardinals won, clinching a playoff birth and a trip to San Diego. Much to my surprise, the NL Central has contributed 4 of the 8 teams to the NL playoffs (including the Brewers, who had to wait for all of the other involved teams to lose before they could celebrate -- which resulted in the unusual phenomenon of two teams on the field celebrating at the same time), while the AL Central has supplied 3 teams for the AL playoffs. Surprise!

But the unusual thing for today was that Gretchen and I decided to take advantage of the loosened restrictions on indoor dining and went out to the Texas Roadhouse nearby. The place was largely empty, the food was good, and we tipped well. Gretchen was just happy to have food on a plate that she hadn't had to cook, which hasn't been the case since March.

Small steps.
