And Then...

It appears that the audio techs who fixed my Apollo unit left it in Thunderbolt mode, not in Firewire mode. This would, in theory, not be a problem, except that you need to connect it to a computer with Thunderbolt in order to drop the firmware back to the Firewire level. And I don't own a computer with Thunderbolt.

However, my *work* computer has a Thunderbolt port, so I will load the UA software on it, bring it down to the basement, connect it with the $80 worth of Thunderbolt cables and adapters that I just ordered from Amazon, and then we'll see if the fool thing works.
