It's Just Being Frustrating
11th-Jul-2005 06:06 pm
daisy_knotwise has taken my car to the shop, since the part it was waiting for has come in. This is good.

In the meantime, I'm trying to schedule a colonoscopy (which I have on a regular basis, since I have two parents who died of colon cancer) and it appears that the doctor wants me to come down and meet with him first, which is -- frankly -- a colossal waste of time. But maybe I can avoid that.

Work decided to be frustrating too, but I think it just wanted to join the parade.

Just have them take the colon out. You really don't need it.

One of my coworkers has Crohn's Disease and had his colon completely removed, but I think I'll try to avoid that if I can. It strikes me as a more drastic version of prophylactic mastectomy to avoid breast cancer (which isn't unheard of, sadly).

It's probably a bit excessive, I suppose. (30 years ago, last January).

Ah, I hadn't known. (Which I suppose is a good thing.)

After this long, I never know who knows what. It's in my gt.org bio though.

Is this the MD you've been going to for this? Ifso, I agree it is a waste of time. Ifno, you're stuck with the bureaucratic hooraw.
