A number of you will remember Eric Webb from SF fandom and the SCA. I just got e-mail from a friend of mine letting me know that Eric's son had passed along the info that Eric is gravely ill with cancer.

I have contact info for him for his friends who would like to get hold of him. Drop me an e-mail or reply to this message with yours in some format and I'll send you the phone number and e-mail address. From the sound of it, phone is the better path to take.

This may be part of getting older, but I really don't like it. *sigh*

You weren't at Thing in Indianapolis, so you didn't see how *thin* Eric has become. Given that, the news of cancer is not so much of a shock.

I was afraid of something like this hovering in the background, even though it was clearly the familiar Eric I spoke with at Thing.

I didn't know the name of the shadow. I would appreciate contact info. Thanks, man.

Eric was a friend I remember from my long-ago younger days in fandom, and I sat up many a night listening to his rich baritone singing some of your songs and many others. Please convey to him my sympathies and best wishes for a speedy and full recovery.
