Starry, Starry Turtle

jeff_duntemann and Carol sent the girls a stuffed turtle with a hard shell on his back as their last (we think) Christmas present. But this was no ordinary turtle!

When you insert the batteries and press the appropriate button, the turtle's shell lights up in blue, green, or yellow. And when you take him into a darkened room, you find that all the little pinpoint holes in the turtle's shell are projected as actual constellations on the ceiling -- Orion, Canis Major, Gemini, and others. And there's a crescent moon.

Katie loves the turtle. (Julie likes it quite a bit too, waving at the ceiling and announcing "Moon! Moon!") Katie loves the turtle to the point where, when daisy_knotwise went out to pick up the pizza for tonight's dinner, Katie turned out all of the lights in the family room (where I was valiantly trying to watch How I Met Your Mother -- which was being happily and fortunately recorded by the DVR) so that she could light up the turtle and look at the stars on the ceiling. And so that she and Julie could climb on Daddy to try to get to the stars on the ceiling.

Oof.

But it's a remarkably well-loved turtle.
