Another Taxing Situation

We were missing the January 2009 bank statement for Dodeka, which was making completing the taxes more than a bit of a challenge. After spending most of a week hunting for it, daisy_knotwise called the bank and ordered a copy of the statement, a process made more complicated by the fact that our branch of the bank (along with the rest of the Chicago-area branches) had been acquired by a different bank in February of this year. After some confusion, the new bank agreed that they would dig up the statement and fax it to our local branch.

Today, one of Gretchen's former co-workers called from the branch. They were about to fax over the January 2010 statement -- was that what we'd wanted?

Uh, no, not at all. Especially since the letter we'd had to fax in with the request specifically said January 2009.

Well, it would only be a few more days for them to find the right statement.

I whined. Gretchen talked to her co-worker who said she'd try to find a faster way to get it.

In the meantime, I filed a metric ton of paper away tonight, looking for the missing statement. I didn't find it.

Gretchen did. In one of the binders that it was supposed to be in.

Maybe we can finish the taxes now.
