Except that Intel in their infinite marketing wisdom changed the socket design of the newest Core i5 chips without renaming them. So the motherboard has an LGA 1156 socket, but the processor needs an LGA 1155 socket.
And the vendor that I bought both parts from doesn't take returns on motherboards or CPUs.
Oh, good.
And there are no motherboards currently available with an LGA 1155 socket, because Intel messed up the silicon for the chipset and they all had to be recalled. There should be new motherboards soon. And I really prefer the new processor to the new motherboard.
*sigh*
I think I'll go work on the taxes.
