A Good Day

The forecast for this morning was for rainy and cold. When I climbed out of bed (suitably late) to discover that it was warm and sunny, we got everyone into bathing suits and took the girls back to the pool that we'd been unable to enter the previous day. Julie and Katie had a good time, Julie spending her entire session in the giant sandbox playing with other kids and supervised by daisy_knotwise; Katie starting out there, but eventually going to the kids play area and then to the big pool and the lazy river with me.

We had to leave earlier than we might have, because I had to get to a Capricon meeting. While I was there, Gretchen, Katie, and Julie went to the airport to pick up sibylle who had a substantial layover at O'Hare on her way back to Germany. By the time I got home, Gretchen and Sib were sitting in the backyard, filling the new wading pool for the girls.

We had some nice conversation, then took Sib over to T-Bob's to introduce her to BBQ beef brisket. Then it was time to drop her back at the airport for her flight home.

It was a good way to spend the day.
